THREATBYTESTM research
Ethics
Malware research involving real and submitted specimens follows institutional ethics requirements, quarantine policies, and responsible disclosure. Approval references are published when formally assigned.
Scope01
The programme handles sensitive malicious software under controlled access, documented consent for submissions, and separation between public documentation and restricted specimen detail.
Ethics review02
Formal ethics review will be conducted through the host institution's research ethics process once doctoral registration is confirmed. The current status is not yet assessed. The approval reference, review body, and any conditions will be listed here once issued.
Working principles03
- No execution of malware outside isolated sandboxes.
- No redistribution of live specimens.
- Community submissions accepted only with informed consent, and only after ethics approval.
- Personal data found inside specimens is minimised and never published.
- Findings that expose vulnerabilities are handled through responsible disclosure.
